GRACE CAMPGROUND
This is a brief history of the Grace Gospel Campgrounds as written and recollected by Martin Wisenbaker.
Camp Meetings. There are two camp meetings every year. One begins on the Wednesday evening before Easter and the other one begins on the first Wednesday evening of October. There are three services per day through Sunday noon. There is anointed praise and worship. Anointed teachers proclaim the Grace of God in Divine Order. Prophets under the anointing bring words of direction and correction (when necessary). Healings bring glory to God in the bodies of the saints present and at times in distant places. Stirring testimonies increase the faith of the hearers. Usually there are persons present from near and far locally and internationally. All are welcome to attend.
There are dormitory accommodations (bring your own bed linens and toiletries) as well as local motels available. There is ample space for tents, travel trailers and RV’S. Meals are served at no charge. Location. The campground is located on Loop 340 on the east side of Waco just south of the city of Bellmead. It is easily identified by the large tabernacle with the tin roof and cedar support posts. A brief history of the Grace Campground as related by Martin Wisenbaker of Houston who sat under the teaching ministry of Glen and Robert Ewing in the mid and late 1960’s. These are some things I remember from the times Glen Ewing told them at his daily classes held at Grace Gospel Church, 1917 McKenzie, Waco, Texas. Some items are from other sources. And some is personal testimony.
When he was a little boy, his Presbyterian mother took Glen to the camp meetings at the then Methodist Campground. He remembered seeing the power of God work in dramatic ways in the hearts and lives of the people present at the meetings. They would get under conviction so strongly that they would run to the front jumping over backless benches to get there. They would fall on their faces in deep repentance for their sins. Some would be slain in the Spirit so completely that they had to be lifted by others, placed in their wagons and hauled home. Seeing all this at such an early age made a deep impression on young Glen Ewing. He never forgot it.
Bro. Ewing told the history of the origin of the campground. The two lane road on the east side of the grounds was the main road into Waco in the 1890’s. There was a Methodist evangelist named Uncle Bud Robinson who came in on that road to hold evangelistic meetings. He traveled in a wagon pulled by two horses. (Some say they were donkeys). But what happened was that one of his animals died before he arrived in Waco. He got into the harness and he and the other animal pulled his wagon to what is now the Grace Campground. He was too tired to go any further. He rested for the night and camped out. The next morning he looked around and decided that this looks like a good place to hold meetings. (This was in the early 1890’s).
He spoke with the landowners, Robert G. and Ann E. Wright, and received their permission for the meetings to be held on their property. The word was spread around and people came by the droves. They rode horses. They came in wagons, some with a cow tied to the back for milk and a coop of chickens for eggs. They came out from downtown Waco by train. The Cottonbelt Rail Road ran special trains to bring the people to the meetings. (The tracks have since been taken up but you can still see where they were laid on the north side of the grounds). The people sat on backless benches or stood. There was an atmosphere of expectancy of what the Lord would do. Besides preaching messages that brought repentance from sin, Uncle Bud Robinson had a healing tent where he prayed for the sick.
The Wrights, (the landowners) were so blessed that they donated their land (ten acres) to the Methodist Church for the price of $1.00 with the stipulation it would always be used “for the promotion of holiness” only. This was in 1892. The building that is here now was built in the 1890’s except for the walls. The large cedar support posts that are here now were put in then. Originally they built only an open pavilion, a roof supported by the large cedar posts. This is the way it remained until 1963. Ownership passed from the Methodist Church to the Holiness Church and then to the Nazarene Church. We do not have the dates of these ownership changes. During the time the Methodist Church owned the campground and Uncle Bud Robinson was preaching here, small one room cabins were built on the grounds for families to stay in while here for the meetings.
Glen Ewing never forgot what he had seen here as a small boy. Other person’s experiences in the Holy Spirit had an influence on him also. In 1919 a sister named Fannie Dugger had gone to Houston where she received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. She came back to Waco and stood up and prophesied in their Presbyterian Church. Her brother, Ralph Dugger said he “felt sooo sorry for her”. Some time later Ralph himself, who was also a friend of Bro. Ewing, received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Finally in 1929, Bro. Glen Ewing realized that “while many were enjoying their religion he was enduring his”. He went to a full gospel church where he received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and was slain in the Spirit. He said he “woke up looking at the bottom of a bench and speaking in tongues”. Their Presbyterian pastor, Dr. J. J. Greer, had tuberculosis. He was prayed for and the Lord healed him. The Spirit was moving mightily in that Presbyterian Church.
Bro. Glen Ewing had three businesses during the depression years of 1929 and following. He was a banker, ran a grocery store and sold farms and ranches as a real estate agent. He often said that “the Lord shot the horses out from under him three times before he realized the Lord wanted him in the ministry”.He started by opening, by faith, a rescue mission for men. With the depression going on men were continually traveling trying to find work. He ministered to many men during this time. He operated the mission as “Hope Mission” and ran it solely by prayer. He stated that occasionally a man would look at their sign and ask, “Is there any hope for me”? He would pray and watch to see how the Lord would provide. He often told the story about praying for a cord of wood and a live sheep. He prayed and waited. Finally, days after they should have arrived, a farmer arrived with a cord of wood and a live sheep. Bro. Ewing told the farmer, “You’re late”! The farmer said “Yes. The Lord told me to bring these to you several days ago and I just now got around to it”. The Lord was building Bro. Glen Ewing’s faith for the work he would do later.
The Presbyterian Church started a mission at 1917 McKenzie in north Waco. Bro. Glen Ewing was asked to act as pastor until a permanent one could be found. The “permanent “ one was never found. So Bro. Ewing became the permanent pastor and remained such until about 1966 or so when he was replaced by his son-in-law, Jack Locker. During the early days as pastor of the “mission” he realized that as a church they were just “drifting”. So he and Elder Dove met together every evening for a year for prayer. After a year the Lord began to open up the scriptures to him by the Holy Spirit like never before. This was in the 1940’s. The Latter Rain movement in Canada in 1948 also had an impact on them.
Bro. Glen Ewing began to teach these “new” things to his congregation. If he got anything wrong or omitted something the Holy Spirit would come on him and prophesy that which was correct even though it might have been the opposite of what he had just said. This stand for all of these “new” and “strange” things caused all his congregation to leave except for his wife, four children, and one or two other families. Then the Lord did a sovereign thing. He prophesied through Bro. Ewing that He would bring young men in to receive his teachings. They would come from the North, the South, the East and the West. The truths that the Lord brought to them were written up in the Texas Grace Counselor and other booklets and put out for dissemination to all. (Reprints are available in booklet form at the campground).
In 1946, Bro. Ewing began having conventions at the church on McKenzie. They grew over the years to large numbers of people attending. In late 1964 or early 1965 he felt led to obtain a larger place to hold the conventions. Since he had at one time been in the real estate business he knew the procedures involved. He looked at several places including the present campground. The Nazarene Church still owned it but an independent Pentecostal group, Bethel Tabernacle, had begun making payments on it to the Nazarene Church to purchase it. It was Bethel Tabernacle who built the first walls and rooms in the back under the once pavilion. A couple in Bethel Tabernacle who contributed heavily to this work were Vaughn and Betty Folsom. There was a period of time before they came when the pavilion stood idle and open and became a shelter for cows to graze around and they took protection under it.
Now a few lines from my own experience concerning the purchase of the campground. I first visited the grounds in April, 1964 to hear a speaker visiting from South Africa, Bro. Robert Thom, a white, born again and Spirit baptized dynamic minister who was speaking at several locations that week in Waco. He told how that he had been a drunken sailor in the South African navy until he met Jesus. The pastor of Bethel Tabernacle was Bro. Clarence Dalrymple. Bro. Thom gave an invitation for all to come forward who wanted to receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. I went forward. Bro. Dalrymple laid one hand on my head and down I went, slain in the Spirit. I was never the same after that. I was changed for the better, Praise God!
In the summer of 1965 is when I learned that Bro. Glen Ewing was considering a larger place to hold the conventions including the old campground. I was informed of it by Sister Louise Hopson (Sister Hoppi as we called her). She was a widow of many years who had come out of the Presbyterian Church with the Ewings. I had just arrived for the 10AM Bible study that morning. Sister Hoppi immediately informed me of Bro. Ewings intentions. I went straight to the altar to pray. Almost immediately the Lord gave me a open vision of the campgrounds with the cross chart (displayed on the wall of the church then and now at the campground) superimposed over the grounds from NE to SW with the cross arms out over the trees. I told Sister Hoppi about it. She was a very conservative and staid Presbyterian lady not given to excess of emotion. But when she heard me tell what I had just seen in the Spirit she threw up her hands and arms and began praising God in the Spirit like a real Pentecostal woman could do. This was a double witness to both of us that the campground was the right place to buy. (It was first the Wright place).
Bro. Glen Ewing negotiated a deal with the Nazarene church to take up payments to the Nazarene Church since Bethel Tabernacle Church did not want to continue making payments and longer. (They had fallen into some argumentative situations and decided not to continue trying to start a church here). Grace Gospel Church received authority to take possession of the property in August, 1965. One of the first things needed was water. There was none available on the grounds anywhere. During the 1890’s water had been drawn from a well which was now dry. It seemed most feasible to bring water in from the city of Bellmead on the other side of the rail road to the north. Bro. Glen Ewing exercised his gift of faith in that he prayed in tongues forcefully for a few seconds. Then he felt led to call the president of the rail road in Arkansas. Bro. Ewing explained the situation. The president was very sympathetic and understanding. He told Bro. Ewing that a casing pipe would have to be placed under the rail road before a water line could be run under it. He said he would send a man on a hand car out to supervise the digging under the rail road and the placing of the casing pipe. This he did. Everything went well and was all done so that everyone was pleased. Water lines were then laid to the buildings The old well was used as a septic system for the new men’s room.
As the Lord would have it, He had enough men in training present who had just the right variety of skills to prepare the grounds for the first convention to be held in October, 1965. Ronnie Tindall, a Baylor graduate from Mississippi and John Vernon from Oklahoma restrung the Meldorf baby grand piano. Paul Lawrence from Ohio dug ditches with a shovel to prove that he was healed of a heart attack. Wayne Purselley of Waco supervised the remodeling of the dining hall and the second floor dorm (for women at that time). He bought windows, blinds and screens for $3.00 a set from an old motel on the circle that was being torn down. The building was boarded up. We had to break into it to get in. The openings for windows were all open with no windows in them. They were too small for the windows Wayne had purchased. We had to knock enough concrete blocks out to enlarge the openings enough for the windows to fit.
As I mentioned earlier Bro. Vaughn Folsom and his wife Betty of Waco had been very contributive to the grounds as members of Bethel Tabernacle in labor, money and material. They came over to our group and continued contributing. Bro. Vaughn had already supervised the construction of the first walls and the rooms in the back as well as building all the pews (or benches) for the sanctuary. He designed and supervised the construction of all the dining room tables and benches. Sister Betty Folsom was quite the woman. She was a carpenter, an electrician, knowledgeable of business law, a plumber and at this time she shoveled glass at the Owens-Illinois glass factory. I was her helper to install water heaters in the new men’s room and in the kitchen. I learned enough about plumbing from her to later do much of my own plumbing, praise the Lord! Also Wayne Pursellley had me to replace the screen wire on all the screens he had purchased from the old motel. I replaced all the venician blind cords for all the same windows. We then installed them in all the openings. Others who I can remember who did
carpenter work and other kinds of work were: Danny Miller from Washington state, Billy Harris of Waco, John Gunn and father Louis Gunn from Washington state, Bob Martz from Pennsylvania, Wayne Crooke from Georgia, Joe Lehman from Missouri (I think). I’m sure there were others but remembering all of them now 40 years later is not feasible.
The one man who by far did the most to improve the existing facility at that time was George Barney from New York. He was a building contractor having done work on thousands of houses. After the first convention in October, 1965, enough money had been given so he was able to put a new roof on the two story dining hall and women’s dorm building. He built the wing on the east side of the sanctuary building which included a nursery. He built the two story addition to the dining hall and women’s dorm. This new part of the building is now the dining hall downstairs and at first the 2nd floor was the men’s dorm. (Later the use of the two dorms was switched around). A new tin roof was put on the sanctuary building in 1967 using Japanese tin. Various other maintenance items have been performed over the years by certain persons. The windows we installed in 1965 have been replaced by whom I do not know. Improvements have been made in the kitchen several times including a new stove purchased with money donated by Grace Tabernacle in Houston in the late 1980’s. An old crippled dog used to come around day after day while the men were working at all the different projects at the campground. Paul Lawrence and George Barney would feed him at lunch time. Finally one day Bro. Paul and Bro. George decided to pray for the dog. The next day here came that same old dog running, completely healed, Praise God!
I mentioned that in the fall of 1965 that the Meldorf baby grand piano was restrung by Ronnie Tindall and John Vernon. And now the rest of the story (thank you Paul Harvey). In 1964 Ronnie Tindall had taught me my first lesson on how to tune a piano. I did it as a hobby for the next eleven years while working at other jobs. My wife and I moved from Waco to Houston in January, 1968 at the Lord’s direction. I went full time into the piano service business in 1975 in Houston also at the Lord’s direction. Ronnie had been keeping the baby grand at the campground tuned. He would arrive early for the conventions and tune it. At some point in the late 1970’s I began tuning it before each convention. After about 10 or 15 years it seemed to me that for a sanctuary as large as this one that a larger piano would be in order. After all baby grand pianos are home pianos. At one convention sometime in the 1980’s Ronnie Tindall, Dennis Chupp and I, Martin Wisenbaker (all piano technicians) discussesd the matter. We all agreed a bigger piano was in order. We agreed also to meet with Robert Ewing to pray about it. At the time Robert Ewing was available Ronnie was not. So Dennis and I met with Robert Ewing for prayer about the situation. We prayed and believed the Lord to provide.
After our prayer Dennis said he did not know of one available at that time. We both did piano restorations and rebuilding but Dennis did more than I did. Some time later in Indiana where Dennis lives and works he was doing some piano service at a school one day. He looked and saw over in a corner an old beat up concert grand piano that looked like it was ready for the junk pile. It was covered with dust and dirt. The lid was in two pieces. It had graffiti carved all over it. He inquired about its availability for purchase. He was able to purchase it for some small amount. He saw the potential it had as the new campground piano. But it had to be sanctified first. He moved it to his rebuilding shop in Indiana. He taught certain members of his church how to do certain tasks and operations of piano restoration. They rebuilt it and moved it here, praise the Lord! Our dream for a larger piano was fulfilled, praise His Holy Name! The baby grand was sold to someone in Bellmead. I have been keeping it tuned ever since it was moved here from Indiana except for a time or two when I could not attend the convention. The piano is a Knabe concert grand made in 1926, the same year Robert Ewing was born.

Robert Ewing.Bible Doctrine of the Scape Goat
Bible Doctrine of the Scape Goat
Our Lord Jesus came not to destroy the Mosaic Law, but to fulfill it. (Matthew 5:17) Through the Old Testament memorials of this Law, were three bodies of scriptures, dealing with the High Priest, the sacrificial blood offering of animals, and The Burnt Offering by fire, for the peace of the soul of man. How could even our Lord, one Person, actually fulfill this and be both Priest and two deaths as Sacrifices. Here we must stop to consider, the great Bible truth, of the separating or dividing of man’s spirit, soul and body. Years later the Apostle Paul challenges the church with this truth, in Hebrews 4:12 and in I Thessalonians 5:23. Christ’s perfect seven-fold salvation, produced Seven Covenants of Calvary from his seven suffering of death (Isaiah 53:4-8). It is complete for the believer’s spirit soul and body, and the new birth JUSTIFICATION is the first of our three-fold salvation. At that moment Christ enters to recreate our human spirit into a new creation spirit, where he indwells forever, and sin cannot enter (I John 3:9 and 5:18). This JUSTIFICATION is by the shed blood of our Lord at Calvary (Hebrews 9:22)The scriptures concerning it are largely in the PAST TENSE delivering the blood washed believer from the guilt of the sin nature within.
The second phase of our salvation is in our soul or mental senses, and is called SANCTIFICATION. This includes a daily need for the Spirit to wash our minds with God’s word. This washing our mind with God’s word saves us from the POWER of sin-habits. The scriptures used for sanctification are in the PRESENT TENSE. The third phase of Salvation is when the Lord will come and we receive our GLORIFIED BODIES. This will save us from the PRESENCE of sin, and the scriptures used for this are in the FUTURE TENSE.Our Lord’s name JESUS denotes his character and ministry, and is taken from the Hebrew word YESHUA meaning salvation which also means to make safe. We see these three separate ministries of Christ at Calvary, In II Corinthians 1:10 "Who delivered us (past tense) from so great a death, and DOTH deliver: (present tense)." In whom we trust he will YET (future tense) deliver us;" The Apostle Paul here strives to make clear to the believer, the TWO RELATIONSHIPS of our spirit and our soul senses, to God. We are made in the image and likeness of God, in two relationships of life, and we have three planes of ministry. When we die our body is buried, but our soul’s form (Isaiah 52:14) and our spirit’s form do not die. In Ecclesiastes 12:7 we read the spirit of man returns to God, as does his redeemed soul. But the soul of the unregenerated man is seen in Hades or Hell (Luke 16:19-31). You have always heard of the poor lost soul going to Hell, but you never heard of a lost spirit going there.
Now let us look at the 16th. Chapter of Leviticus, where the annual Feast of THE DAY OF ATONEMENT was celebrated by ancient Israel. On that day the High Priest had 12 acts to perform. Among them, which were all memorials of Calvary’s redemption, was to choose young goats for two deaths. The first goat chosen was to die as the blood offering in which the High Pries then took the warm life blood behind the second veil into the Holy of Holies and sprinkled the blood upon the Mercy Seat. Then later he must lead the second goat as the Burnt Offering for the soul sins, out to the eastern gate and lay hands upon its head. This was to signify the sins atoned or covered by the blood of the first goat, were to be carried away into wilderness, and the second goat was called the Scape Goat. There wandering in the deserts, bearing Israel’s sin away (Psalms 103:12), he finally died in loneliness, hunger, and thirst with the vultures tearing its flesh away from the dying body. This second death of the second goat called the Scape Goat, must also be fulfilled by our Lord at Calvary.
In Matthew 12:40 our Lord prophesied, "For as Jonah was THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS in the whale’s belly, so SHALL the Son of Man be THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH." All Christian organized groups celebrate Easter, declaring the Lord Jesus died Friday evening and arose Sunday morning. This left him in the tomb TWO NIGHTS and ONE DAY. The two deaths of the two goats are born out in Isaiah 53:9 where the word "death" is PLURAL. Let us trace the ministry of our Lord’s SPIRIT as High Priest. But first let us see that the Spirit did not sin or die. In Luke 23:46 the dying Lord Jesus cried "Father into thy hands I commend my Spirit." The Father has just looked away from the dying BODY and scape goat soul, both laden with all humanity’s sins. (Psalms 22:1) So the righteous SPIRIT of Christ must fulfill the ministry of the High Priest, as Jesus Christ had to be both Priest and Sacrifices. Then in Luke 23:43 we read, "Today shalt thou be WITH ME in paradise" The Lordly High Priestly SPIRIT then carried the warm Life Blood of Jesus into Heavens Holy of Holies (Hebrews 9:12).
Then the High Priestly SPIRIT returned, in following the pattern of the earthly High Priest and led the Scape Goat soul down into Hades or Hell. In Psalms 16:10 we read, "Because thou wilt not leave my soul in Hell, neither wilt thou suffer thy Holy One (Body) to see corruption." This repeated in Acts 2:27. Then again to assure us it was Christ’s SOUL as the Scape Goat that went to die the second death, we read in the 10th. 11th. 12th. Verses of Isaiah 53rd.chapter the word SOUL " When thou shalt make His SOUL an offering for sin. He shall see the travail of His SOUL and be satisfied." "Because He hath poured out his SOUL unto death." Now let us turn to the 88th. Psalm and read graphic word picture of our Lord’s SOUL tormented with the divine wrath of the Father against sin, until his SOUL FORM lay still in death, in the dark domain of lowest Hell. In Psalms 88 we see the suffering of all poor lost souls in Hell. In Psalms 88:3 "For my SOUL is full of suffering " And in 88:6-8 we read, "Thou has laid me in the lowest pit" Thy wrath lieth hard upon Me. Thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves, I an shut up and cannot come forth."
He continues in 88:14-15 "Jehovah why casteth off thou my SOUL? Why hidest Thy Face from Me I am afflicted and ready to die." In midst of these sufferings unto death, the New Testament Church was conceived. Psalms 139:15-16, "My substance (church) was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance being yet unperfected; and in thy book (of Life) my members were written." Thus the purpose of God to create His Son a Bride, was perfected in the SOUL or Scape Goat’s suffering in lowest Hell, Even as sin was conceived in highest Heaven in Lucifer’s heart. In Ezekial 28th chapter and in Isaiah 14th chapter we can read the account. It was when the Heavenly Father looked down and saw the Son’s SOUL’S still form lying dead in Hades, that he came forth in the 18th. Psalm and with great wrath and power, entered Satan’s domain and breathed His endless Life into the still Form of the Scape Goat Soul. Then the SPIRIT of Christ entered the resurrected SOUL and overcame Satan in his dark domain, putting heal on Satan’s neck and took away the keys to Hell and the Grave.
Christ held those key in Revelation 1:18. The High Priestly Spirit had fulfilled I Peter 3:18-19 and gone down to preach to the righteous spirits in the prison of paradise. For paradise was in the HEART of the earth, and a great city of refuge to shelter the righteous. God could not take them to Heaven, until the redemption of Calvary, for they were under suspended sentence of death, protected only by atonement or covering of animal life-blood. The Apostle Paul gives us a brief picture of this in Colossians 2:15, "And having spoiled principalities and power, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them IN IT. Christ the Scape Goat overcame death with death, even as his Spirit overcame Life with Life, and in lowest Hell, Satan’s power or authority over the believer, thru his self life, was taken away. He no longer has authority over any blood washed believer. in Christ, he now only has ability, as we yield to his fears.
There were six cities of refuge in Israel, mentioned in Numbers 35th. Chapter. Into these, men fled for refuge from the destroyer or avenger, and remained under suspended sentence of death, until the earthly High Priest died, then all could go home, REDEEMED by the DEATH of the High Priest (Numbers 35:25). The thief on the cross became converted, and received his commission, "Today thou shalt be WITH ME in paradise" Luke 23:43. Immediately after death, his spirit, the last to go into the city of refuge, paradise, also became the forerunner of the Spirit of Christ. He bore the good news that the High Priest was dead, and they could soon be released to go home, to Heaven. Then in Psalms 68:17-18 we take up the moving picture, and read, "The Chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands (of Angels)…etc. Thou has ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: Thou hast received gifts for men," etc. This is so important, it is repeated in Ephesians 4:8-10, "Wherefore he saith, when ascended up on high, He led captivity captive and gave gifts onto men. Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the LOWER PARTS of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all Heavens, that He might fill all things." Then follows his gift to the New-Born Church, His ascension gift of office ministries of the APOSTLE, PROPHET, EVANGELIST, PASTOR and TEACHER (Ephesians 4:11).
The great exodus of all righteous people out of paradise, and up into Heaven was the Old Testament "Day of Release" Golden Jubilee, of their Pentecost every fifty years, finally fulfilled (Leviticus 25th. Chapter). Now we blood washed born again believers in Christ await his return for his church. And as there was a BETTER RESURRECTION of the FIRST FRUITS of Israel, seen in Hebrews 11:35 and carried out in Matthew 27:52-53, there will be two phases of our resurrection. The true inner body of Spirit filled First Fruits of the full Overcomers to arise to meet him, as the Bridal Company (Eph. 5:27), and later purified in the unparalleled suffering of great tribulation (Matthew 24:21) where all Christians left rise in general resurrection (Revelation 7:14) Rapidly fulfilling Bible Prophecies proclaim the nearing event of Christ coming for His Bride. Which group will you be in, Those in the BETTER RESURRECTION or those in the general resurrection?

(Sequence of Events)
Following the Pattern of the High Priest and sacrifices in Leviticus the sixteenth chapter
First, He took His own blood into the Holy of Holy in Heaven. Hebrews 9:11-14 11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Secondly, He returned and led his scapegoat soul into hell where it was tortured and died. (Psalms 16:10; Psalms 88:1-18) Then his High Priest Spirit went to preach a three-day revival to the prisoners in Paradise. 1 Peter 3:18-19 18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; At this time the Father look down and saw the dead soul of his son in Hell. God came down from heaven and breath life into the soul (Psalms 18:4-20) Then the High Priest Spirit of Christ entered into the resurrected soul. Jesus at this Time defeated satan and took the Keys of Hell and Death away from him. Jesus still has them. Revelation 1:18 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. At this time Jesus reentered and resurrected His Body and He began to return to the Father. First he Led Captivity Captive in leading the Old Testament Righteous out of Paradise to go to Heaven. Ephesians 4:8 8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. Along with the Old Testament Righteous he took the devil and his demons in chains of bondage as his slaves for a walk through the Arc of Triumph in Heaven. The next two verses of Scriptures are good news for us and are bad news for the devils and his boys. Colossians 2:14-15 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. At this time also the Old Testament Saints that had received their better resurrection and their Glorified Bodies went up with the Lord. Matthew 27:50-53 50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. On his way in returning to the Father, Jesus stopped off the say hello to Mary Magdalene John 20:16-17 16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. 17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Thirdly, Evidently, Jesus did return to the Father and came back for in Matthew we can see that they held Him by the feet. Matthew 28:9 9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. He was with them for forty days teaching them the things concerning the Kingdom of God and then he was taken up in a cloud. Acts 1:3 3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: and Acts 1:9 9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Ten days later the Day of Pentecost was fully come and the disciples received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Introduction
Isaiah says of John the Baptist in chapter forty verse three " The voice of one cryeth, Prepare ye in the wilderness the way of Jehovah: make level in the desert a highway for our God." Just as our messiah needed a way prepared for him then, so today, the way is prepared for our lovely Lord to enter all the deep recesses of our soul.
Is. 40:4 "Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the uneven shall be made level and the rough places plain." This verse shows that in our soul structure there are two possible obstructions that would hinder our Messiah- now in our reborn spirit- from moving freely into our soul structure. The "Low" areas of depression, discouragement, etc. which must be balanced out. The "High" areas of pride, self-sufficiency, etc. which must be brought low. Each of the principles deal with both of these needs. The one supreme purpose of this article is that God may be glorified. "…the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed and all flesh shall see together; for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it.
Even though this study is a look at the soul, still it would be incomplete without an understanding of the tremendous place that our spirit has in connection with it. God has made us one being, but in three parts: Spirit, Soul and body. The sinner’s soul is empty-though filled with much trash- until it is linked to the new-born spirit. Then, through the process of sanctification the flow of life is released from our reborn spirit into the forty-eight areas of our soul.
The spirit and the soul are two distinct words; Spirit (OT ruach, NT pneuma) has the connotation of a strong blast of wind. Soul (OT-nephesh, NT-psuche) has one of a gentle breath.
Psychology is a study of the psuche (soul). Man’s wisdom lacks the ability to penetrate into the realm that God has reserved for himself –the spirit. Therefore it, along with the unexplored depths of the soul, is called the "subconscious mind" of which man knows very little.
The term "Spirit" is used in two ways in reference to man’s makeup. It is the personal spirit as presently discussed. It is term used for the attitude of the soul. When one has a good attitude we say he has a good spirit. Of course, we use it in a negative way, too, as a bad spirit.
The beatitudes deal with this last point. When our soul has a good spirit (attitude) then, as a believer this makes the preparation for the personal reborn spirit to possess and control our soul.
Our reborn personal spirit cannot sin and it is perfect. Christ says: "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." (John 3:6) In 1 Jn. 3:9 and 5:18 it says "Whosever is begotten of God doeth no sin, because his seed abideth in him: and ha can not sin, because he is begotten of God." After John tells us "we shall be like him." Physically (1John 3:2), then he says in verse three, in so many words, that we are being made like him. For he says " and everyone that hath this hope set on him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."
However, in 1 John 4:17b we see that we have already been made like him. "Because as he is so are we in this world." By the law of elimination this cannot be either our soul or our body. So this must the part of us which is born of God, that is our spirit.
In understanding the above, we recognize that in 2 Cor. 7:1 it is referring to our mental attitude when it says, "Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleans ourselves from all defilement of flesh an spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Righteousness or (right relationship) is the overriding principle of the Sermon on the Mount. The Sermon on the Mount brings healing to our soul in each of its specific areas. The healings in the Bible show how these right relationships are applied to heal the different areas of our soul.
LOVE IS THE FORCE THAT MOTIVATES ALL THESE PRINCIPLES, Therefore the four love principles of Mark 12:30 intertwined throughout these principles.
Mark 12:30: "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength."
"With all thy heart" is love in adoration (as God sees it) Mat. 5:23-26
"With all thy soul" is love in affection (as we feel it) Mat 5:43-48
"With all thy Mind" is love in attitude (as those nearest us see it) Mat 6:25-30, 32-33
"With all thy strength" is love in action (as the world sees it) Mat 7:1-12
All Bible references are quoted from the 1901 American Standard Version. This version was chosen because of its literalness to the original languages.

II 7 Soul Drives
The soul drives are the motivating longings of the soul. Here the life of our spirit takes up residence
Key Thought-Balance (Phil. 2:13

Our relationship to man
The eyes are (members) of our body. The give vision which stimulates desire. So the healing abilities of each of these principles relate to the basic soul drives are seen in all the blind people healed in the Bible.

B. Self-expression Drive
Discreet Boldness (10) (Matthew 5:14-16)
Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Before God: Hebrews 4:16 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Before men: "Let your light shine before men" Healing for timidity " Neither do men light a light and put it under a bushel" 2 Tim. 1:7 (NIV) "For God did not give us the spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline." Boldness with discretion.
Illustrated by the healing of the two blind men at Bethsiada Mat 9:27-31 They came boldly to Jesus "Two blind men followed him, crying out and saying , have mercy on us,"
C. Security Drive (cf Heb. 2:15)
Trust in his finished work (12) (Matthew 5:17-18)
Matthew 5:17-18 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

D. Loyalty Drive
Loyalty (13) (Matthew 5:18-19a)
Matthew 5:18-19 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven:"
Here is one place where God uses the same principle to heal as that which needs healing. giving loyalty "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments" lack of loyalty to God. Loyalty begins with our loyalty to God.
Receiving loyalty "and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven:"
Demanding others loyalty without giving loyalty to God Acts 20:30. Denominationalism demands loyalty to man’s religious ways rather then submit to God’s order.
Jesus was first loyal to us. "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled"
Illustrated by healing of the blind man outside of Bethsaida Mark 8:22-26. This pictures loyalty even at a personal cost, seen in his willingness to follow Jesus while still blind, be spit in the eye, and not turn away, and to obey Jesus’ command to not reenter the village. His loyalty was in contrast to the blind men in Mat. 9:31 who disobeyed Jesus’ command.
a. This shows that a person can be healed in one area of his soul and still lack in another. The first stage of the healing pictures salvation, which gives us a priestly vision. The second stage of the healing pictures the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, which gives us the prophetic vision Acts 2:17
E. Control Drive (power)
Judgment (15) Matthew 5:19b-20)
Matthew 5:19-20 but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Christ the judge is our standard (v 17), evaluator (as seen by the commandment) and rewarder (v 19) in contrast to the Pharisses (v 20). Right evaluation determines whether God’s standard or false religion controls us. (Pharisees picture false religion) God’s commands are to bring us under God’s control. Whatever standard we adhere to or are judged by we will teach others.
God’s control over us (by submitting to his commandments) "whosoever shall do them"
God’s control through us (by giving them to others) "and teach them"
Illustrated by healing of the man born blind John 9:1-41 "For judgment came I into this world, that they that see not may see" (v.39)
a. He demonstrated the healing from wrong control over him by receiving the right
Standard, Christ, in contrast to the wrong standard, the Pharisees, "Lord I believe" (vv. 22,35,38)
b. He demonstrates healing of wrong control through him by his teaching the Pharisees
the truth though they refused it and became blind (vv.30-34) Many since have been
healed through these words.
F. Knowledge Drive
Mercy and Truth (18) (Matthew 5:21-24)
Matthew 5:21-24 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Our knowledge drive is intertwined with all our other drives, True knowledge is the Word. (Col 2:3) whose main characteristics are grace (including mercy) and truth. (John 1:14,17) Grace and truth are God’s medicine to heal our knowledge drive from error, often caused by anger or deceit. This healing can be in experiential, rational, or revelational knowledge. Anger is a binder that hardens the heart and perverts knowledge. (vv. 21-22) Mercy is seen in the offering of the gift at the altar. (v. 23). Truth is seen in leaving the gift at the altar and being reconciled to our brother. (v.24) There are many Old Testament references referring to mercy (same OT word as Grace) and truth (faithfulness).
There are three distinct healings of blindness around Jericho Luke 18:35-43; Mark 10:46-52, and Matthew 20:29-34. If one studies the three different accounts it can be seen there were three distinct healings, not one as many assume. In a city of 100,000 population it is easy to see there could be many seemingly similar accounts. To reconcile the three accounts into one the inspiration of the scriptures would have to be denied. But one thing they all had in common, mercy and truth were a part of each, for they consistently cried for mercy, and confessed the truth that he was "The son of David"
Experiential Knowledge Mat 5:21-22a. Knowledge through the physical senses
a. Anger is a perverted form of experiential knowledge. "By mercy and Truth iniquity is atoned for" Pro 16:6
b. Illustrated by the healing of the blind man "as he drew nigh unto Jericho" Luke 18:35-43
1. He cried "Jesus, thou son of David" showing he knew the truth.
2. He cried "have mercy on me", showing he needed more than just the truth, he needed mercy.
Rational Knowledge Mat 5:22b. Knowledge through reason and deduction
c. Jesus was exposing the Pharisees perverted knowledge by introducing the way of mercy and truth. Their anger blinded them.
d. Illustrated in healing of blind Bartimaeus "as he went out of Jericho" Mark 10:46-52
Revelation Knowledge Mat 5:22c. Knowledge through the spirit
e. God’s revelation knowledge was coming to the Pharisees through the Son of God Ps 85:8, 10 "I will hear what God the Lord will speak…Mercy and Truth are met together"
1. This is the Mercy-seat psalms, where the Lord communes with his people
Ex 25:22. It was here where the Mercy-seat (mercy) and the Law (truth)
met together
b. Illustrated in the healing of the two blind men "as we departed from Jericho" Mat
20:29-34
G. Acceptance Drive
Love in adoration for God (20) (Matthew 5:23-26)
Matthew 5:23-26 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. 25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. 26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
We can’t adore God in love with something against our brother, else it be a blemished
offering. I Cor. 11:28
a. Love toward God – "leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way" The act of
obedience to go already shows a heart reconciled to God II Cor. 5:18-21
b. Love toward brother – "first be reconciled to your brother" Acceptance was assured
by his attempt of reconciliation, regardless of the other’s response. It remained with
the other brother whether or not his own acceptance drive would be healed through
forgiveness of the offender. (cf Mat 18:23-25)
Illustrated in healing Paul’s eyes Acts 9:3-19, Acts 26:16-16
c. Acceptance before God
He called Jesus Lord "Who art thou Lord?"
He obeyed Jesus "but rise and enter the city…they led him by the hand and
brought him into Damascus. (cf I Tim 1:13-16)
Paul was healed as he obeyed. Without obedience he would not have
been where Ananias found him.
Acceptance before man
Ananias accepted Paul by faith "Ananias departed, and entered the house,
and laying his hands on him said, Brother Saul"
Four aspects of the Acceptance Drive
d. acceptance through what we do: (appreciation) Feeling needed. Paul felt needed by
God. Acts 26:16-18
b. acceptance for what we have: (achievement) Feeling respected. Paul was given
hope of achievements he would do. Acts 26:18
acceptance of who we are: (acknowledgment) Feeling noticed. Paul felt noticed in
that Jesus appeared to him Acts 9:3 (cf Acts 26:16)
acceptance from those we are with: (affection) Feeling loved. Paul felt loved by
Ananias (Ananias accepted Paul by faith) Acts 9:17
III. 4 Inner Laws
These are the four-fold operation of the word in the soul. The three positive laws are to protect and assure the flow of life from the spirit: counteracting the decaying law of sin
A. Law of Faith Romans 3:27
Authority of Precedent (11) (Matthew 5:17-18)
Matthew 5:17-18 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
1. This is also the authority to initiate a new thing in God, a precedent which will be a standard to
be followed thereafter.- faith is an initiator. Moves outward against obstacles to expand the
church. Peter, using the keys of the kingdom, initiated twelve new precedents Christ wanted
the Church to follow, including the Gospel being brought to the Gentiles. Today God still
speakes to people to initiate his scriptural patterns to expand the church. (e.g. Mat 28:19-20)
Romans 3:27-31 The Law of Faith
2. This law of faith is like the stonewall that protects the vine. Every principle of truth that
becomes part of us is a living stone of this wall faith ("The word made flesh" John 1:14)
3. Illustrated in Leviticus chapter eleven Clean/Unclean animals (food) Acts 15:22
In the new covenant, we can eat all things by faith Romans 14:14, 22 I Tim 4:4-5. Peter was
told that What God has cleaned, call thou not common. Acts 11:9, Col 2:16-17 While
initially we were justified by faith, cleansing our heart, (Acts 15:9) now we are to continue
in the faith, keeping us clean from the daily defilement of the world Col 2:6.
a. In Noah Ark all animals were included today all specimens of humanity who walkup that gang plank of faith are included in Christ, Cleansed by his blood.
b. To be clean an animal had to have two traits the chewing of the cud, picturing meditation on the truth and separated hoofs, the sanctified walk in the Spirit. Now.
B. Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus Romans 8:2
Authority of Provision (14) (Matthew 5:19b-20)
Matthew 5:19-20 but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
This is the authority of legal rights. (to overcome the Law of Sin and Death through God’s
Promises.) Psalms 23:5
This authority moves forward from Calvary where all provision were paid until now for the
perpetuation of the church.
This Law of the Spirit of Life is the good vine Gal. 5:22-23
Illustrated in Leviticus 12: Purification after childbirth
Through this cleansing she is "cleansed from the fountain of her blood." This pictures the complete healing from the past blood line of Adam, which now enables to have the new man within us. The functioning of the new man is called The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.
a. "Keep thy heart, for out of it are the issues of life" Prov. 4:23
b. "Out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders" Mat 15:19
c. The heart is that which motivates one. At salvation we believe from our heart. The
cleansing that followed the birth pictures the heart healing that enables the clean flow
to come from our spirit and flow into the deep recesses of our soul. Just as then, the
babe came enrolled in Israel, so now the new birth bring a new life into the family of
God.
C. The Law of Sin an Death Romans 7:23; 8:2
Authority of Perfection (16) (Matthew 5:21-24)
(This authority comes from maturity and perfection)
1.This authority comes from spiritual maturity. It is contingent of the transformation through the
renewing of the mind. Our natural soul, just like a natural wild field is transformed in to a
beautiful garden. This authority moves downward from our spirit likes bombs dropped on hell to
liberate our soul
2. The law of sin is lke a bad vine. Gal 5:19-21 Illustrated in Leviticus 13-14 Cleansing of
leprosy. This pictures our healing from sin. Sin made us unclean. Just as the leper received first
the blood and then the oil upon his right ear, right thumb, and right big toe, the same ceremony
as Aaron and the priest received, so our cleansing from sin give us an equal standing to that of
Christ in our justification.
D. Law of the Mind Romans 7:23, 25
Authority of Position (19) (Matthew 5:25-26)
Matthew 5:25-26 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. 26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
This is the official authority of position delegated from the top down. Christ the head dwells in our spirit, hence this authority operates from our spirit.
This Authority points upwards where Christ, the chief apostle, prophet, etc. has delegated (shared) his five-fold ministry life into faithful men, who along with the help of local elders oversee the church Eph 4:8-11. Ephesians 4:8 is quoted in Psalms 68:18 This shows that the purpose of these ministry gifts is to bring the church into his presence (throne)
The Law of the mind is like a vine trellis over which a good vine (law of the spirit) or a bad vine (law of sin) becomes integrated with the seven parts of the Law of the Mind.
The seven parts of the Law of the Mind: Abraham and Lot as examples. Abraham is an example of the positive application of the Law of the Law of the Mind. And Lot is an example of the negative application of the Law of the mind in his life and ministry:
a. Attention
1. Lot Gen. 13:5-9
a. His attention was drawn to something negative, dispute with Abraham
b. Lot had a root of pride, Prov. 13:10 "By pride comes only contention"
2. Abraham Gen. 13:9 Abraham’s attention was on his Lord
b. Attraction
1. Lot Gen. 13:10
a. "He lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan… As the
garden of the Lord. Lot was attracted more to the creation then to
the creator.
2. Abraham Gen. 13:14
c. Initial Choice or point of decision
1. Lot Gen. 13:11
a. He made a choice an act of his will. "So lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan
2. Abraham Gen. 13:18
d. Action
1. Lot Gen. 13:11
a. It became a lifestyle for Lot. "Lot journeyed eastward"
2. Abraham Gen. 13:18
e. Possession
1. Lot Gen. 13:12
a. Lot separated himself and left his uncle to live in selfish pleasure
"Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain, and moved his tent as far as Sodom."
2. Abraham Gen. 13:18
f. Knowledge
1. Gen. 14:12
a. Lot became a captive "and they took Lot, who dwelt in Sodom,
and his goods and departed"
b. This was part of God’s mercy to awaken him and to lead him out.
Romans 2:4 " the goodness of God leads you to repentance."
c. Lot did not respond, but returned to Sodom Gen. 14:16 "and he
also brought his brother Lot, and his goods."
g. Set Direction
1. Lot Gen. 19:1
a. Lot became an elder of Sodom and was very involved in the
affairs of that city. "And two angels came to Sodom at evening,
and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom"
2. Abraham Gen. 15:
5. Illustrate in Leviticus 15 Cleansing of discharges
a. This pictures the cleansing of uncontrolled mental patterns that defile us in our personal life
b. "Wherefore girding the loins of your mind" I Peter 1:13
IV. The three Faculties of the Soul
Matthew 5:27-30
These determine the manner of expression of the life of our spirit
A. Emotions
Chastity (21) (Matthew 5:27-28
Matthew 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
1. Worship is the proper occupation of our emotions
2. Adultery is the perversion of the emotions "lust of the flesh corrupts our emotions" Gal. 5:24. Lust attacks the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus Gal. 5:16-17 as seen in eves temptations Gen. 3:6 "when the woman saw that the tree was good for food" appealed to the physical appetite. The lust of the flesh
3. Illustrated in I Tim. 2:15 "but she shall saved through her child-bearing, if they continue in faith and love and sanctification with sobriety. Gen. 3:15 "I will greatly multiply thy pain in thy conception; in sorrow (pain) thou shalt bring forth children.
B. Mind
Liberty from Possessiveness (22) (Matthew 5:29)
Matthew 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
The word is the proper occupation for our mind. Psalms 19:8 "the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes." A wrong focus is perversion of the mind. Lust of the eye corrupts Jude 11 and attacks the Law of the Mind. Ephesians 1:18 "eyes of your heart" Greek word "dianoia" meaning deep thought, shows that eyes are associated with the faculty of the mind. This association is seen in Eve’s temptation. Gen. 3:6 "when the woman saw… that it was a delight to the eyes". The lust of the eyes
Illustrated in healing of our mind from vanity or emptiness of creation after the fall. Science shows us that a large part of the mind is not used. This happened after the fall of man. Romans 8:19-23 "For the creation was subjected to vanity" v.20
C. Will
Humility (23) (Matthew 5:30)
Matthew 5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Walking in the Spirit is the proper occupation for our will.
Oppressive authority is the perverse exercise of our will. The right hand speakes of authority, but it can be a desire for the evil use of authority. Mat. 5:30
Boastful pride of life corrupts our will James 4:6-7; I Peter 5:5-6 Pride attacks the Law of Faith John 5:44 "How can you believe when you receive honor from one another. (Proverbs 29:18) "Where there is no vision the people are unrestrained." As can be seen in Eve’s temptation Gen. 3:6 "When the woman saw… that the tree was desired to make one wise" (The Pride of Life)
Illustrated in the restoration to us of the mind of Christ. I Cor. 2:16b The will needs to work to find expression, thus the hand, which works in contrast to the eye, which is only passive in seeing, expresses the will of man. In Gen. 3:17b-19 God cursed the ground, thus smiting the work of man’s hand, Just as in Mat 5:30 where God gave a principle designed to smite the work of man’s hand if evil.
V. Five senses of the Soul
Matthew 5:43-48
These are the abilities of our soul to receive and communicate the flow of life from our spirit
A. Imagination
Restraint of God’s Government (17) (Matthew 5:21-22)
Matthew 5:21-22 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Verses 21 & 22 present a very clear image of murder and its consequences. Thus it
deals with image-ination
Imagination explores new areas for the flow of life to enter. Imagination needs
government to keep it from going wild (Committing murder). And in verse 22 there
are three levels of government mentioned.
Illustrated in plague in I Cor 10;9 / Numbers 21:5f. The image of the brass serpent on
a pole.
B. Conscience
Guiltlessness (24) (Matthew 5:31-32)
Matthew 5:31-32 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: 32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
The conscience is the soul’s antenna which picks up the voice of the spirit. Thus it can discern between soulish and spiritual elements so as to keep the flow of life pure.
Illustrated in the plague in I Cor. 10:7 / Ex. 32:6, 19
Memory
Genuineness (25) (Matthew 5:33-37)
Matthew 5:33-37 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: 34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne: 35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. 36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. 37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
Memory is the hidden reservoir that draws on this flow of life it in it’s bottles for
later use. Commitment brings forth genuineness.
2. Illustrated in the plague in I Cor. 10:6 / Num. 11:4, 34 (cf. psalms 106:14)
Reason
Guilessness (26) (Matthew 5:38-39)
Matthew 5:38-39Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Reason coordinates to help the other senses in directing this flow of life in the right
Direction.
2. Illustrated in the plague in I Cor. 10:10 / Num. 16:3, 32, 41
E. Affection
Love in Affection (27) (Matthew 5:43-48)
Matthew 5:43-48 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Affection, when set upon Christ, draws us to his flow of life to receive it and to flow it to others. (Col. 3:2 KJV)
Illustrated in the plague in I Cor. 10:8 / Num. 25:1ff, 9 for fornication with the Moabite girls.
VI. The three Life Dimensions
These life dimensions are different realms of the operations of the flow of life of our spirit within us Matthew 5:43 – 6:34
A. Nature
Son ship through Regeneration (28) (Matthew 5:43-48)
Matthew 5:43-48Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Nature is that inherent life within us with which we are reborn. Nature can be
Metamorphosed by the over flow of life from our reborn spirit. Nature can be defiled
by sin’s leprosy (The Adamic nature or flesh)
Illustrated in circumcision. Circumcision is the main tap root of all the healing
Principles. There is much spiritual significance of in circumstances.
Circumcision, in the natural, is a preventive hygienic measure to protect one from
potential venereal diseases, (There are far less cases of Aids among the Jewish as an
ethnic group according to a scientific survey in a resent news article). This shows
how the circumcision of our hearts which is the putting off of the body of the flesh
(Col 2:11), prevents the many spiritual diseases which come from too much of the
old nature. Circumcision was necessary in order to be able to receive an inheritance.
Lev. 12:3, Lev. 12:44, 48. God had always intended for circumcision to be a thing of
the heart Jeremiah 4:4. "Breakup your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
Circumcise yourselves to Jehovah, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye
men of Judah." (cf. Romans 2:29). "Circumcise with a circumcision not made with
hands, in the putting off of the body of the flesh." (Col. 2:11).
This spiritual baptism (circumcision) experienced at the new birth is a legal judicial
one, retroactive to Calvary where our old man was legally crucified once and for all.
Romans 6:6; I Cor. 12:13
But now God wants us to have it experientially so that we can enjoy our
Inheritance. "Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that you should obey
the lust thereof" Romans 6:12
Gal. 3:29 "And if you are Christ’s, then are ye Abaham’s seed, heirs according to the
promise."
The five affects of spiritual circumcision as seen In Romans 6:1-11 and the five Old
Testament instances of circumcision
a. Spiritual circumcision brings us into a corporate relationship with God. Romans 6:2-3 "We who died to sin, how shall we any longer live therein?" Abraham and his whole household as a group entering into the covenant of circumcision with God picture this. Gen.17:26.
b. Spiritual circumcision causes us to experience more of our inheritance. Romans 6:4 "Walk in newness of life." Isaac pictures this: "God has made me to laugh." Isaac in the Old Testament is a type of the nine fruits of the spirit. Gen 21:4-7
c. Spiritual circumcision results in breaking the control of self and establishing Christ’s headship. Romans 6:6-7 "that the body of sin might be done away…for he that hath died is justified (released) from sin. This is pictured by Moses and Zipporah Ex. 4:25-26. In resisting the circumcision of her son Zipporah was resisting Moses’ headship in the family. But through circumcision the negative control was broken, thus establishing proper headship in the home of Moses.
d. Spiritual circumcision helps us to abound in our new life, giving dominion over sin and death, that we not serve them. Romans 6:8-9 "we shall live with him…. death has no more dominion over him." This is pictured by the Nation of Israel being circumcised Joshua 5:2-9. This was the first time in forty years that the males had been circumcised. They entered into Jordan (Picturing death) and came out (in resurrection) to Gilgal (rolled away) in Canaan (the inheritance). Gilgal received it’s name because the reproach of Egypt, slavery, was rolled away by circumcision. Gilgal also pictures Calvary. Through Christ’s death, where our old man legally died (2 Cor. 5:21; Col. 2:11) our slavery/reproach also was rolled away. For at the new birth the Spirit baptized us into Christ’s death and resurrection. We need not be like certain slaves who, after Lincoln’s emancipation act, remained slaves through ignorance.
e. Spiritual circumcision cleanses our vessel that Christ might live through us. Romans 6:10-11 "but alive unto God in Christ Jesus. Spiritual circumcision was fulfilled by Jesus Luke 2:21 "His name shall be called Jesus." This speakes of the manifestation of the new creature. As we walk in this new liberty, the new creation Christ is manifested to all. "The disciples were first called Christians" Acts 11:26 (little Christs)
B. Character
Character is the structure of principles built into our soul and summarized in love, hope and faith
Lordship of Jesus Christ (29) (Matthew 6:1)
Matthew 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
Illustrated by Isaac being raised from the dead. Gen. 22:10-14 and Heb. 11:17-19 "in a figure. This pictured lordship by the total submission to the Lord’s will.
Giving (30) (Matthew 6:2-4)
Matthew 6:2-4 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

12. Appreciation of the sheep for the Shepard (40) (Matthew 6:25-34)
Matthew 6:25-34 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
This is illustrated by the Two witnesses being raised from the dead Rev. 11:11 (Moses
and Elijah)
C. Influence (our personality expressed)
Love in Attitude (41) (Matthew 6:25-26, 30-32)
Matthew 6:25-26 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Matthew 6:30-32 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Influence is our personality expressing life to those around us. Illustrated in the
healing of the withered hand. The withered hand of King Jeroboam I Kings 13:6
(Zech 11:17) King Jeroboam was out of God’s will to begin with because it was a
lack of love in attitude which brought Jeroboam to power in the first place. I Kings
12:1-19. Though pride he tried to extend his influence to include the priestly sphere.
Matthew 12:9 Jesus heals the withered hand.
VII. The four basic Temperaments
These are the basic underlying mentalities or dispositions, which color the impressions and actions of the flow of life of our spirit
A. Outgoing (People Oriented "Looks around" Present time oriented )
Love in Action (42) (Matthew 7:1-12
Matthew 7:1-12 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. 6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? 12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
The word "therefore" in verse twelve shows that this verse sums up the preceding verses. The
key thought for the bold and outgoing and verses one through eleven is Expression or
expressive. Jesus as an example pictured in the Book of Matthew. In Matthew Jesus is seen
as being bold as a lion, The Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
We are to love the Lord with all our strength Mat. 22:37.
When we do this we express the Glory of his name (what he does) Luke 4:14.
Expresses the breadth of God’s nature. (Outreach) Eph. 3:18
This illustrated in the casting of demons Luke 4:31-36 and every subsequent casting out of evil spirits is a follow up showing God’s love in action and how when followed it brings a healing to the outgoing Temperament. I John 3:8 says "for this cause was the son of God manifested" (Bold outgoing) "that he might destroy the works of the devil."
Satan looks for a means of expression. So he can possesses people that he might express
himself through them. The casting out of spirits is the proper expression of God’s love for the
outgoing temperament.
The temptation of one with this temperament is to draw attention to himself. But God’s
intentions for the outgoing temperament is for the outgoing temperament to use their bold
expression to further God’s kingdom by setting people free.
This principle is two-fold, bringing healing not only to the one showing God’s love, but also
to the one who had the demon.
Whereas love in action heals the outgoing temperament, the opposite is true, hate in action
perverts it. This is why God has chosen this kind of divine medicine to counteract it.
B. Goal-Oriented Temperament (Looks ahead – Near future Oriented)
Perseverance to a goal (43) (Matthew 7:13-14a)
Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,
Key word (motivation) staying motivated "enter ye in by the narrow gate"
Seen in Jesus as the goal oriented servant (ox) in the Book of Mark
We are to love the Lord with all our heart Matthew 22:37
This expresses the Glory of his Word, Acts 20:32 What we have through his word by fulfillment of promise or prophecy. This expresses the length of God’s nature (commitment to a Goal) Eph. 3:18
Illustrated in the healing of Simon’s wife’s mother of a fever. She as a housewife was hindered from fulfilling her goal of serving her guests until Jesus healed her from her fever.
The second picture is of Christ himself. He could have been tempted to be deterred from his goal just stated in Luke 4:18. He was naturally a friend of Peter’s mother-in-law. By healing her he overcame the obstacle and continued on his way to the goal.
Immediately afterwards, in verse 42b, the people wanted him to stay and not leave them. But he swerved not from his goal. "But he said unto them, I must preach the good tidings of the Kingdom of God to the other cities also: for therefore was I sent." He did not turn to the left or to the right to follow good or bad things. He stayed the course.
Satisfaction of Attainment (44) (Matthew 7:14b)
Matthew 7:14 "and few there be that find it."
Proverbs 13:12 "Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree
of life." (Hope is desire crying out for fulfillment)
Illustrated In double healing of women with issues of blood. First in Mat 9:20-22 The second
in Mark 5:25-34 and Luke 8:43-48.
The women pressed toward Jesus. And having reached their goal, they had the satisfaction of
feeling God’s power surge through them. They were healed of the pain of their goal-oriented
temperament. They received a double healing. Outwardly they were healed, and inwardly
they were refreshed
Introspective Temperament (Inner – person oriented "Looks within" Past oriented)
Penetrative perception (45) (Matthew 7:15-19)
Matthew 7:15-19 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Key word is sensitivity (Sensing one’s own inner state or that of another)
Seen in Jesus in the book of Luke as the introspective son of man.
We are to love the Lord with all our soul Mat 22:37 This expresses the glory of his life (who he is in us.) John 12:23-26
This expresses the depth of God’s Nature (Quality) Eph. 3:18
Illustrated in the healing of dropsy Luke 14:1 Dropsy is an abnormal accumulation of fluid in the tissues of the body, usually do to a failing heart or kidney. There is a bloating of the face and possibly other limbs. There is difficulty in breathing because of fluid pressing against the diaphragm.
Accuracy of Full Knowledge (46) (Epignosis) (Matthew 7:20)
Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Illustrated in healing of speech Mark &:32-37 Speech is the communication of knowledge. The man could not speak well because he could not hear. His knowledge of how to speak was lost through time.
D. Visionary Temperament (Presence oriented "Looks beyond" Distant Future Oriented)
Obedience to the Father’s Will (47) (Matthew 7:21-23)
Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
"Not everyone that sayeth unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my father who is in heaven. V. 21
Key word – consciousness (Keen awareness) Seen in Jesus as the visionary high flying Son
of God (Flying Eagle) as pictured in the Book of John
We are to love the Lord with all mind Mat 22:37
This expresses the Glory of his Presence (who he is with us) Psalms 16:8
This expresses the height of God’s nature (ecstasy) Eph. 3:18
Illustrated in the dominion over the viper’s bite Acts 28:3-6 (cf. Mark 16:15-18)
Paul was obedient to the Father’s will by fulfilling the great commission. His obedience helped to lift the "consciousness" of the islanders up to the heavenly level.
Putting on God’s Covering (48) (Mathew 7:24-27)
Matthew 7:24-27 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
"And the rains descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not for it was founded upon the rock." V. 25
v. 25 "Who built his house upon a rock" – Foundations covers us from the shifting sands of
self living
v. 25 "And the rains descended – covered from God’s judgment from heaven.
v. 25 "and the floods came" – Pictures judgment of the world around us. (they were on peer level with house)
v. 25 "and the winds blew, and beat upon the house;" Satanic attacks against us.
Illustrated in healing of dysentery Acts 28:7-8 Like the house built upon the rock Paul was "covered" from the rain, the floods, and wind he had been in. "Publius, who received us and entertained us three days courteously."

Our relationship to God
Our relationship to man
The eyes are (members) of our body. The give vision which stimulates desire. So the healing abilities of each of these principles relate to the basic soul drives are seen in all the blind people healed in the Bible.
A. Self-preservation Drive
Integrity (9) (Matthew 5:13
Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Salt
a. is a preservative
b. is an antiseptic
Illustrated in healing of blindness in 2 Kings 6:13-23
c. Preservation personally 2 Kings 6. 13-23
(1) From outward enemies (circumstances and people)
(2) From inward enemies (heart attitudes)
d. Preservation corporately 2 Kings 6:13-23
(1) From outward enemies. Seen in Nation of Israel being saved from the Syrian army Acts 20:29 "wolves from without"
(2) From inward enemies (heart attitudes) seen in King’s hate in wanting to kill the Syrians. Acts 20:30 Spiritual lethargy, false brethren
His finished work for us (Justification)
His finished work through us as we abide in his calling (Rewards) Phil. 1:6
Illustrated by the healing of the demon possessed, dumb and blind man Mat 12:22-23. Jesus’ complete work of healing brought true security because he was in contact with the one who brings all his work to completion.

4. Bearing the reproach of Christ (32) (Matthew 6:7-8)
Matthew 6:7-8 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
This is illustrated by the man in Elisha’s grave being raised from the dead. II Kings 13:21
5. Waiting until God’s time (33) (Matthew 6:7-10)
Matthew 6:7-10 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Witnessing with power (36) (Mathew 6:9-18)
Matthew 6:9-18 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

9, Faithfulness to and appreciation by the Shepard for the Sheep (37) (Matthew
6:14-21)
Matthew 6:14-21 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
This is illustrated by Dorcus being raised from the dead. Acts 9:36-44
10. Assurance of Grace (38) (Matthew 6:22-23)
Matthew 6:22-23 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
This is illustrated by Paul being raised form the dead. Acts 14:20; II Cor. 12:1-4
11. Invincible Faith (39) (Matthew 6:24)
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
This is illustrated by Eutychus being raised from the dead. Acts 20:9
